Royann Dean

Royann Dean is a Nassau-based mixed-media artist whose collages tie together images and text to tell stories about hopes, dreams, fears, and the human experience. Her work explores topics such as masculinity and femininity, lightness and density, to bring new meaning to images once they are removed from their original context. She employs words and text to create a layered narrative approach.

She is heavily influenced by multidisciplinary artists such as Pharrell Williams, Solange Knowles, and Virgil Abloh, whose practice involves transferring skills as practitioners in music, art,  and design to impact culture and create new ideas and ways of seeing.

Royann has a Bachelor’s in Business Administration with a concentration in Marketing from the University of Georgia, an MA in Design Management from the University of the Arts London, and various art business certificates from the Sotheby’s Institute of Art. She is an experienced panel discussion developer and moderator and the creator of inspired/by, the Bahamas’ only conversation about business, design, and creativity.
