Edel Bordón Mirabal

Bordón has devoted his entire life to the exploration of Fine Art. Having completed his studies at the National School of Art and the Superior Institute of Art, he has amassed thirteen years of academic training. His teaching career commenced in 1976 at the Provincial School of Art in Santa Clara, Cuba, and he subsequently ins¬tructed at the Provincial School of Fine Art in Havana from 1979 to 1987. Bordon has also held the esteemed position of Direc¬tor of the Painting department at the renowned National Aca¬demy of Fine Arts of San Alejandro in Havana, where he has been a dedicated educator for over three decades.

While consistently creating art that defies categorization, his portfolio delves into diverse themes, spanning from the early days of humanity to love and solitude. Central to his oeuvre is the conviction that we conquer our fears to endure; our very existence nurtures resilience within us. Bordón has showcased his work individually in numerous coun¬tries, such as Brazil, Germany, Mexico, the United States, and Switzerland. His art is housed in prominent collections, inclu¬ding the Museum Beatriz Liaskosky in Zurich, the Museum of Finest Cuban Art Maximilian Reiss in Austria, as well as the Lois Lambert Gallery and Cuban Gallery in the USA. Additionally, his pieces are held in various private collections in the Bahamas, the United States, and Mexico. Bordón is a proud member of the National League of Writers and Artists of Cuba (UNEAC)
