Domonique Jacobs (b. 1987) is a Bahamian contemporary artist who pioneered a unique style of art that incorporates a modern take on mixed-media elements with traditional techniques. Her foundation comes from the constant clash between her passions for visual art and hairstyling, which have been viewed by society to be unsuccessful occupations in a majority white-collar world. Also, self-reflection as a bold Afro-Caribbean woman residing among the evolving islands of The Bahamas is what she draws unique experiences.
Domonique holds a BFA in Fine Arts Education from The University of the Bahamas (2011). She has received international attention selling and exhibiting her works on a global scale but ultimately wants to share her unique message to uplift and inspire her homeland.
